I take a complete pragmatist line to accelerationism. As long as accelerationism works, I am all for it. What I doubt, however, is that accelerationism actually works. The Bolsheviks, for example, took advantage of Russia’s entry into WWI to overthrow the Tzar. Basically accelerationism is to purposefully choosing the worst policies with the hopes of overthrowing the system.
The subreddit r/socialism takes a strict line against accelerationism, but that is a dumb subreddit. Why be against a successful accelerationist line? The only problem with accelerationism is if it does not work. Otherwise, termite away and destroy the system.
One can accelerate things by generally being a prick in life. Be an annoyance. Troll society. Do not be sincere. In fact, accelerationism is fun. I call this “social accelerationism.” Promote really extreme music too. This is part of the Gangster Bolshevik Principles.
Then there is purely political accelerationism. If Trump was the man he said he is, I would support Trump as an accelerationist candidate. The problem is, that on many issues, Trump is just another tool of the bosses. However, if as the media elites fear, Trump actually was going to tear down the system, then I would be all for it.
The British Conservative Party is a good example of a candidate failing to be accelerationist as well. Boris Johnson was seen as a candidate who would tear things down, but he did not. He basically kept the status quo and kept being hostile to Vladimir Putin. The end result is that nothing was taken down and then labour just took over.
Besoshvilli/Beriandize once wrote an article on now defunct “Free Media Productions” which was entitled “For the war, against the troops.” It was a classic example of accelerationism. It should be more accurately described as “for losing the war.” It was about the Iraq war and argued that the cost and damage to America’s reputation was a great thing. I am all for being anti-establishment, but given the choice, I would have kept Saddam Hussein in power.
Another example of historical accelerationism was Adolf Hitler. He did the Reichstag Fire and Beer Hall Putsch. He himself used accelerationist tactics to get into power. Yet once in power, he continued to be unhinged, with his policies on Jews and his Master Race and warmongering. Thus accelerationists could have supported cracking down on the National Socialists to make them stronger, then supported the National Socialists to make them implode.
I think I am for accelerationism if it is genuine, it is just that I think many so-called accelerationist candidates and causes are actually hijacked by the system. It makes sense to promote the worst qualities of capitalism to take it down. That is why Bernie Madoff is considered a hero by me and my clique. The damage he did to crony capitalism was unmistakable and if I knew him, I should have egged him on. Macrobius claims to have worked for Bernie Madoff as a consultant.
Bernie Sanders is interesting, because he has taken the position of supporting mainstream Democrats and not gotten much good result from it. The party has just used him for the votes but then not enacted his agenda. The party did not get pulled to the left, but pulled Bernie to the right. While he has good principles, it would be better if he would just go against the system.
Jonathan Lee Riches is a great example of trolling. He randomly sued a bunch of people making up fake plaintiffs and people being sued and got in the media for that, especially while in jail. He went to Sandy Hook elementary after the Jonathan Lanza shooting and pretended to be an Uncle of the shooter, dodging media until he got thrown in jail for a probation violation (leaving the state of Pennsylvania). Now, however, he poses as a Trump supporter and Republican, but it is all attention seeking in my view. He used to take photos with me pretending to be LGBT. He initially went to jail for making fake ids and tapping into peoples’ bank accounts. He has lived the ideal life and now chases storms and tragic news events as an “independent journalist.”
The late Edward Breimann was known for writing inmates. Inmate writing is a big part of what we do and compatible with accelerationism. The idea being the criminals are likely to accelerate things. So should the Mafia and Organized Crime be supported? Well, we cannot really openly say that.
The bottom line is that there is no reason to be against accelerationism if it is genuine and actually works. The “socialist” (note the quotes) Subreddit is wrong (as usual).
